Modular Synth: Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO)
The aim of the project was to build a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) module. When completed the module could be used as one section of a modular synthesizer. It may also be used independently to generate weird sounds.
This project uses analogue electronics to construct and test a modular synth unit capable of creating a wide range of interesting sounds.
The circuit was tested with an oscilloscope, which measured the frequency of the wave forms. On the first output the square wave was found to have a frequency range of between 10Hz and 443.619Hz. The triangle wave had a frequency range between 10Hz and 448.889Hz. The second output square wave had a frequency range between 10Hz and 478.077. The triangle wave had a frequency range between 10Hz and 445.050Hz.
