Live Strong - Health & Fitness

Our aim was to develop a Health & Fitness web application that appealed to consumers as a website that did everything you needed to get your healthy lifestyle on track. We wanted to build a well designed website that focused on healthy living.

Project Description

Live Strong is a Health & Fitness Web Application that allows users to learn new exercises using our instructional videos, these are videos focussed on different areas of fitness. There are videos dedicated to Cardiovascular, Body Building, Strength and Stretching Techniques. Live Strong allows users to learn new recipes using our Food page, which provides full meal plans from breakfast ideas to lunch and dinner. Make your meal plans simple with Live Strong. Live Strong provides the user with information about their Body Mass Index and calculates their daily calories needs by using their weight, height, age, gender and level of exercise activity. Live Strong was developed mainly in HTML & CSS, PHP was used to calculate the BMI and the Calories. JavaScript was used for Validation purposes.

Project Findings

The project aim was at first to develop an Android Mobile Application but later changed to a Web Application as time constraints and our lack of knowledge in Android Studio forced this change. The aim was to develop a well designed web application that also had a functional database in the background. Our aim was to develop a Health & Fitness site that helped a user on their way to a new healthy lifestyle by giving them instructional exercise videos and healthy recipes.
