To help college students reduce their stress levels during high stress times such as exams.
The team developed a Virtual Reality app called MindfulBreak VR based on in depth research that was carried out throughout the development process. The purpose of this app is to help college students lower their stress levels by using Virtual Reality Meditation and relaxing scenes (beach, forest, mountain). These scenes are both 360 videos and scenes created by using Unity. The user chooses which scene they would like to view while meditating. There is also an option to listen to relaxing music and/ or audio guided meditation while watching the scene, which the user can turn on or off at their leisure.
After user testing, we found that people perfected the 360 videos to the VR scenes but enjoyed using both. People found it relaxing but there were some issues for people who regularly wear glasses.
