Let’s Go is an eLearning web application for people with Intellectual Disabilities to enable them to live more independently. This project provides the latest addition to the Road Safety module, in co-operation with the Road Safety Authority, Letês Go introduces Rules of the Road.
Using Phaser.JS to bring to live the dangers and the adventure of independent travel, this eLearning web application will teach the recommendations of pedestrian road safety taught by the Road Safety Authority themselves. This interactive learning is done so using an environment that the user can explore, and learn through. With easy to read text and buttons, automated sounds and instructions on where to go or what to do and feedback on the tasks and challenges they face. With three playable games this e-learning application explores the design principles and what the best approaches are to teaching road safety for the users.
Working with people who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder or an Intellectual Disability and the psychology students who are also involved in Let’s Go gave an insight into the needs and requirements of this project. The Road Safety module has been integrated into the Let’s Go project and will be developed upon further alongside the application as a whole.
