Happy Heads — A week of resilience building for kids
5–6 year olds.
The current SPHE curriculum for Irish children leaves much to be desired. Happy Heads is a week in which children learn the language of mental health in the classroom, setting them up with tools for a lifetime. The week is mandatory for all senior infants classes and is run by the HSE. A classroom pack initially opens like a book then is hung on the classroom wall holding all activities for the week. Each day covers a different topic including feelings, self-expression, listening, mindfulness and exercise.
