Investigating the Impact of Self-Kindness Vs. Prosocial-Kindness on Undergraduate Students’ Psychological Well-Being.
The current study aimed to investigate if undergraduate students’ psychological well-being could be enhanced via a kindness intervention. The study also explored if there would be a more beneficial type of kind behaviour (prosocial or self-focused behaviour) that would improve students' well-being.
Results showed an increase in students' well-being level, however, it was not statistically significant. The study also did not find any significant difference in well-being levels of students who engaged in self-focused kindness compared to the well-being of students who engaged in prosocial-kindness. However, although not significant, prosocial-kindness did show a higher increase on well-being.
